15. Workspaces — Free dashboard & Parts stock
Three workspaces
The selector at the top left switches between three workspaces: Race (live standings and analysis side by side — the usual screen), Dashboard (a fully configurable video wall) and Parts (spare-parts management). The active workspace is remembered between sessions. A red badge on the Parts tab shows how many items are below their alert threshold.
Role profiles
The ⋯ → Profiles menu reconfigures the whole interface in one click for each pit-wall role: visible standings columns, analysis tab order, open floating panels, Dashboard widgets and active workspace. Four presets are provided. Common Dashboard base: the full Standings (the Pit board uses the large-format Mini standings) + the Pace panel (bike rhythm) open, plus 4–6 widgets per role. Race tab: a floating Ø Pace or ⬡ Map panel + 2 widgets, grouped in the bottom-right corner.
| 🎯 Team manager | Essential + strategy columns (stint, stops, σ, median), strategy tabs first. Dashboard: Standings + Strategy advisor, Stint plan, Next pit, Finish projection. Race: Map + Next pit |
| ⏱ Timing / Expert | All columns visible (sectors, speeds, stint entry/exit). Dashboard: Standings + Lap-time trend, Lap history, Bike summary. Race: Pace + Bike summary |
| 🪧 Pit board | Dashboard workspace, streamlined columns. Dashboard: large-format Mini standings + Clock (large), Bike summary. Race: Map + Clock, Bike summary |
| 🔧 Mechanic | Parts workspace, Pit times / Pit strategy tabs first. Dashboard: Standings + Refuelling analysis, Next pit, To service. Race: Pace + Refuelling analysis |
Info
Custom profiles: arrange your ideal layout then 🆕 Save as new profile… stores it under a name. A ✓ marks the last applied profile; ✕ deletes a custom profile. Profiles never touch the theme, language, API keys or filters, and survive Reset UI.
Info
Save this profile (in place). Each profile pre-arranges widgets in both workspaces — Dashboard AND the Race tab (on the Race tab, the float + 2 widgets are grouped in the bottom-right corner). Floating-panel positions are remembered separately for the Race and Dashboard tabs. After applying a profile and rearranging your widgets, click 💾 Save this profile: the layout of both workspaces is saved into the active profile, with no name prompt — including the 4 presets. A modified preset shows a • dot and reloads your version; the ↺ button resets it to its original state. Profiles you save restore the EXACT layout — positions and sizes of widgets and floating panels — on reopen (no more automatic re-arrangement). Tip: re-save your custom profiles once, created before v3.6, to benefit from this faithful restore.
Widgets — Free dashboard and Race
The + Widget button adds floating windows — the five existing panels (Intervals, Circuit map, Pace, Fuel, Log), a mini standings (Top 5/10/15/all, with PIT IN/PIT OUT badges), a race clock (elapsed/remaining + flag) and individual bike cards (Glance style: position, last lap, gap, stint gauge). Each window is dragged by its title bar and resized from the corner; the whole layout is remembered.
📊 Bike summary — the flagship widget: it gathers all the live info of the reference bike (the one selected in the standings) in a single grid — Position (+ gap to leader), Lap count, Last lap, Best lap, Theoretical lap (sum of personal best sectors), Rider on track (continuous seat time) and Current stint duration. The time turns green for a personal best, purple for the category best.
Around it: the Comparator (4 bikes) — up to 4 bikes side by side (position, last, best, laps, gap, stops); the Lap-time trend chart with mouse-wheel zoom (double-click to reset); the Lap history (5/10/15/20 selectable, time + sectors); a Standings Overall or Category widget (selectable Top N, reference bike highlighted) and a Sticky note (free notes pinned, saved per workspace).
Pit side: Strategy advisor (undercut/overcut from rivals' predicted stops), Stint plan (projects every stop to the flag for up to 4 bikes, with the last-stint estimate), Finish projection (estimated final order), Next pit (laps + minutes countdown), Estimated remaining fuel (gauge + L/lap consumption per bike) and Refuelling analysis (last stop duration + average / best / median of stops). To service (BETA) flags parts past their interval.
Info
Circuit weather. The Weather widget shows temperature, rain and wind for the circuit (Spa, Le Mans, Suzuka, Paul Ricard). It is context-aware: live (green "live" badge) it gives the current weather with 3-hour rain probability; in replay/demo (amber "race" badge + time) it replays the actual weather of the race moment shown (rain fallen in mm) and follows the playback position. Timing does not provide weather: it comes from Open-Meteo (free) and requires an internet connection; live refreshes every 10 min. When replaying an older race, data comes from the historical archive (ERA5) to stay accurate (forecasts don't reach far enough back).
Info
Enriched weather suite (~25 widgets). Beyond the Weather panel, a suite of mini-widgets covers every parameter: track temperature and its trend (arrow + hourly curve), grip / drying, rain window, hourly forecast, 12-hour rain risk, wind (dial, gusts, shear), air density and Wind & air impact (engine gain/loss from cold, dense air + straight-line wind effect, head/tail, from a per-circuit straight heading), humidity, pressure, dew point, visibility, clouds, storm, sunrise/sunset and a precipitation radar (live map; in replay, an hourly rain timeline around the replayed moment). Every widget is replay-aware.
Info
Available in both workspaces. The + button sits in both the Dashboard workspace (toolbar) and the Race workspace (top of the standings, next to ⊞⬡Ø⛽📓). Each workspace keeps its own independent layout, so the same widget can be placed differently in Race and in Dashboard. In the Dashboard, ↺ Reset closes the current workspace's widgets.
The clock and mini standings font scales with the widget size: compact on a small window, giant when the widget is enlarged (handy for pit-board use on a second screen).
Info
Choosing a widget. The + menu is organised into four categories — Race info · Standings & race · Strategy & pit · Other — plus the Bike cards (one per team), with a search field at the top: type a few letters to instantly filter every widget by name. Weather is no longer in the + menu: it lives in the Weather station, a fold-out panel on the right edge, visible in every workspace.
Parts stock
The team's spare-parts inventory: each item has a reference, description, category, location, quantity and an alert threshold (rows highlighted in red below the threshold). The +/− buttons record stock in/out; each withdrawal is assigned to a bike and to the current event, with an optional note. The History tab lists all movements, filterable by bike — to track each machine's parts consumption.
Info
Saving: the stock is saved automatically to stock.json next to the application (shareable between PCs); in a browser, to local storage. The Import/Export buttons handle backups and transfers.
Simulation tab (Race workspace)
The Simulation view of the analysis panel groups the undercut simulator (same as the ⚡ button, docked in the page), the Safety Car scenario and the end-of-race projection (predicted catch-ups based on current paces).
🚗 Safety Car scenario — "if the SC comes out now, do I pit or not?": under a SC the field runs slowly, so a pit stop costs less (pit loss ÷ slowdown factor, "free" out-laps if the SC lasts beyond the stop). The section shows the gain of pitting under SC vs under green, both bikes' fuel windows, and the three quantified scenarios against the rival picked in the undercut form: I pit under SC / both pit / the rival pits under SC. SC duration (15 min) and slowdown (+40%) are adjustable. At the restart, on-track gaps are compressed in the train: track position rules.
